Ok, who has put some wideys on the back of a fox. WITH OUT MINI TUBBING!!! I wanna run a 17x9, or a 17x10 in the rear with a 295-305 tire. quad shocks gone, i know, but do i hafta roll the inner and outer fenders or can i just get away with the inners. i wanna run a 03 cobra wheel so that should answer the ? about backspacing. so do i need a 10in wheel, or can i use a 9, and what about the fenders?

I've "seen" 295's, AND 305's mounted...can't say for sure about the 295's, but I CAN say for sure you'll need to not only remove the quad shocks for the 305's, but ALSO you'll need to roll the inner fender lip as well.
Just installed 275/40/17's, and when the car was still up off the ground, the tires were basically on the quads...only once it was lowered did the tires clear the quad shocks!
That being said, you "probably" will need to remove the quad shocks if you're looking to install 295's is my thinkin'.

You will also prob have to use a BFH and hammer on the inner fenders too That is very true.

ive seen the 10.5's go on a fox and it sticks out kinda far, doesnt look good... the 315's will fit on a oh tree cobra rim just fine... but as KB said.... BFH + no quads.... might want to look into lower control arms before you ditch the quads tho... i know i noticed a big difference when i had mine off for a day.

If they are going to be five lug then you need fox length axles. instead of a explorer or something. yea i know i gatta remove the QS thats pretty much a gimmie rite there. ok, well rim width yall think i should go with? 9 with a 295, or 10 with a 305

Not sure why you're askin' (or anyone askin' for that matter), as to "what do WE think" Ha...it's YOU that you've gotta please...doesn't matter if I like 'em or not, right? Hey...beauty is in the eye of the beholder! Ok...here at this link you'll see several tire/wheel combinations. Granted, these are different wheels than what you're wantin' to put on, but the 10" have a 20mm/6.25 backspace and the 9" have a 24mm/5.95 backspace. Don't know how those compare to the rims you're wantin' to put on, but just be prepared for some slight to light fender rollin' it would appear~~~~~~~~~~~ tinyurl.com/64nr5p You'll see 313/35's on 10".....285/40/17's on 10".....285/40/10's on 17's, etc... Once you do the install, post up some pics! Before/After would be awesome.

i run an 18x10 with a 275/40 and zero rubbing anywhere. beat the crap out of the inner fenders, cut the lip out of the wheel well. no quad shocks. and the tail pipes cleared when they were on the car.
at mustang week i saw a coup with 17x10 pony r's and 315 nitto drag radials... looked very nice.

I used to run a set of 295 street tires on the rear of the Cou0pe, but now I run 275 Nitto DR's on it. The lips are rolled though...
