The module on the front of the distributor is usually the reason for that one. Also worn out wires, that doesnt mean that they have to be old either. run your fingers while it running but still cold up and down each wire a few times and if it shocks the crap out of you then that is the wire you need. Also, and this is very rare but it happened to me at mustang week with my wires and anybody will tell you that everything on our car is NEW! This happens when the bag the wires are in, if they are motorsport if not then it will just happen, is opened to for instance show a customer and then they are shelved in a moist store room the moisture, although very minuet, gets to the contacts in the boots and forms surface rust. It may not happen right away either but that high spark Mixed with ,the now captured, moisture literally grows rust and gives you a all around sporadic spark that is almost impossable to figure out. This is a last resort type thing.
Note for EVERYBODY! Always use the electrical connection gel on all connections regardless of problems. Or you might get stuck in a parking lot at mustnag week in the dark with a flashlight in your mouth ripping your hair out because it is raining and your car in not in the trailer! LOL That was a BIG OLE SUCK OF A TIME MY FRIENDS! It is worth $10 for the gel and 1 hour 1 time to make sure you dont sell your car because you hate it so much and every mechanic you take to charges you to change a bunch of crap 5 times and it still dosent work! Please Please Please if you can avoid it dont take your car to a normal repair shop, the guys that work at Most of those places are not "Mechanics" and only know what OBD2 tells them. They are skilled parts changers and not Mechanics that know how to diagnose problems without replacing anything. Take your Stangs to places like Stable Performance and ETRaceworks if they handle stuff like that. The old school "True" mechanics are few and far between so find one thats good and use them till you die! LOL Or until you know more than they do! LMFAO
Good luck man!
PS: if the wires shock you, then just know we are all laughing at you not with you! LOL

Take your Stangs to places like Stable Performance and ETRaceworks if they handle stuff like that. I try to fix most of my own sh4t b/c i don't trust other folks working on my cars. No experience with etraceworks, but i know stable has been around forever and knows their way around a mustang. I'd let them turn a wrench on my heap if need be.

As would I. There are nothing but good people on SEFB and I am sure that we will all be able to help you with any problem that arises with your car. As we all know there are a lot of them but they are all simple and annoying and best of all, thank god, there cheap to fix!
Good Luck Man!

I've been messing with mustangs since 94, and have seen alot of wierd things. Does it do this hot, cold, sometimes, all the time, etc....? It could be anything from the TPS, to the EGR, ignition module(on dist).

I was thinking it may be IAC to or maybe even intake air temp sensor. It could be about 10 things that I can think of.

All the above things are good to check, but I know on mine it was acting kinda weird once, I pulled out my K&N and it was soo dirty......I cleaned it and it ran better....sometimes it's the simple things....

Way to keep it simple wayne! It that ends up being the problem, I am going to retire, or I might go reinvent the wheel or something.
