apperanty i dropped something in intake while swapping it out and it made it to the cylinder.

oh none of the damage is as deep as the valve reliefs. and i plan to file down the high spots.
so is it still usable or not?

i would put it back together and run it if there is no cracks or holes

Check the cylinder walls, if it did that to the piston then it had to damage the walls. Just wondering, what kinda noise did that think make?? lol...

walls are clean, i believe it was a small factory pinch style hose clamp. stock head is done though.

yeah.those places are in the thickest parts of the piston.the valve reliefs are deeper.will not hurt anything.

just bought some low milage iron gt-40's. just wish i had some 1.7 rockers to go with them.

i might be picking a set of 1.7's as a package deal in a few days/week. waiting to hear back from the guy. he had them with some valve springs i want.
