I'm going to stud the heads and mains in my 347 stroker, stronger is better. I WANT a main girdle and a windage tray. The girdle for strength and tray for horsepower. I'm going to order ARP fasteners because I already have ARP rod bolts and just easier keeping it the same. I'm using a 69 Mexican block and APR main studs w/ windage tray. My question will the windage tray or main girdle clear the crank that has a 3.4 stroke or will I have to clearance it like I did the block??

That depends on the windage tray/girdle that you use. Also, if you use one that sits over the main caps, you will have to grind it to clear the Mexican main caps, as they are ticker than a stock block. I might have a old DSS girdle that we used on a Mexican block with a a small stroker. I will check sometime today.

Most girdles comes with bolts or studs, so I would'nt buy them until you get the girdle. As for the notching, it depends on the brand, and I'm pretty sure the DSS girdle/tray combo will clear.

Thats what I was wanting to know... By the way machine shop called today, had to sleeve a cylinder because it blew a head gasket and was left for a while and rusted pretty bad. Just wondering what oil pan to use to install a older block in a fox chassis, My block doesn't have a provision for a dipstick and fox chassis have rear sump. I seen a Milodon and a Moroso pans have a dipstick in the side of the pan, anyone used either, pros/cons.
