Preping the Boss of track dutys in 08...decided to change out a few things, cause I have had a electrical gremlin since early 07,causing the car to just cut off,and cut out on the big end.....Think I finally found the problem...How many Fox body owners have seen this problem?

I see those all the time at the dealership. It was a recall in the late 80's early 90's. You need to get the new updated switch and there is a new pigtail harness that you can also replace if yours is melted. Mine totally melted and you had to smack the column sometimes to get it to start. The new part number is a F29Z-11572-D or the Motorcraft number is SW-2474, so you can check against yours, from the looks of the engineering number on the new one you have the updated part. The old one also looks like it was loose and had slotted the holes. By the way the recall number was 95S28

that switch is one of 2 times the car left me stranded. it would crank, catch, then die. wasnt power fuel pump. rode around for a few weeks starting it with a screw driver till i could pull the column out... ask Trai

The ignition switch and the TFI module's suck on our cars.
My friend's 88 had the ignition switch catch on fire 7 months after he bought it new. Ford would not take responsibility for it, because the recall started in 91.
